I've been working on an idea for a new project, bringing my poetry together with original music to create a series of soundscapes.

The idea is simple. I'll record myself reading my poems and invite musicians and composers to create original music around them.

Poetry means different things to different people. A poem might bring a particular memory, image or feeling to one person and something entirely different to another. I want to give other artists the freedom to explore the ideas and sensations within my work and see where their own creativity takes them.

I'm not looking for music that simply sits in the background. I'd love each artist to bring something of themselves to a poem, to interpret it through their own music and create something neither of us could have made alone.

I've already approached a few artists about getting involved, but I'd love to hear from others who might be interested in collaborating.

The finished pieces will be shared through my website and social media, bringing together poetry, spoken word and original music.

If you're a musician or composer and this sounds like something you'd enjoy being part of, please get in touch. I'd love to hear your ideas and see what we might create together.
